About Me

me (long hair)
My name’s Catherine. I’m 22 years old. I’m from Glasgow, in Scotland. And I’m living with Cystic Fibrosis.

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetically inherited, life-threatening illness which effects all the organs in the body, but predominantly the lungs and digestive system. With Cystic Fibrosis, thick, sticky mucus fills the lungs, leading to chronic chest infections. It also usually includes pancreatic failure.

The treatment is daily, consisting of physio therapy, nebulisers and antibiotics to clear the lungs, enzymes when eating in order to digest food, and various vitamins and other medicine in order remain as healthy as possible.

Having cystic fibrosis has not stopped me maintaining a positive outlook on life, which I wish to share with you!
